Double Lake Campground

Hours: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Double Lake Campground was built in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and offers a variety of recreational activities, such as camping, fishing, picnicking and hiking.

  • Campground is surrounded by the 23-acre Double Lake
  • 20-mile mountain bike trail
  • 5-mile hiking trail leads to Big Creek scenic area
  • Access to part of the 128-mile Lone Star hiking trail
  • Temperatures can range depending on the time of year
    • Mild temperatures from September through May
    • Hot and humid from June to August
    • Cool and damp winters
  • Scenic rolling hills home to hardwood and pines
  • Ample parking is available
    • One vehicle included with each site fee; extra vehicles charged $9 per night on-site
